Breakfix® began as a family brainstorm years ago during a cross-country road trip through the
heartland of America. As a way to make the adventure more fun, we brainstormed different product
ideas that might demonstrate to the kids the process necessary to bring a new product to market. As
"luck" would have it, we stumbled upon a real problem that needed a real solution.

The catalyst for the Breakfix® Cereal Dispenser occurred at a motel in a small town in Iowa. After a
restful night, the family assembled in the lobby for the "continental breakfast" which consisted of the
choice of cereal, toast, or donuts. The cereal was being offered in a plastic bin and was both crushed
and stale. Also, adding to the diminishing desire to eat the cereal, guests had to stick their hands
into the bin to scoop the cereal out. From that moment we decided to take a look at how we might
help travelers like ourselves eat better on the road and at home. For starters, we hoped we could "fix"
the "broken" way that hotels and motels deliver cereal so that guests would get their cereal faster,
fresher, at a lower cost and in a much more sanitary fashion.

That is when the name Breakfix® was born!
